About Us

Founded in January 1999, SIRAS is the pioneer in Point-of-Sale Electronic Product Registration, which encompasses patented business methodologies, including the creation of a unique “fingerprint,” for tracking products and validating return and warranty eligibility. SIRAS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nintendo of America Inc.

Originally developed to provide better return management control of video gaming systems for Nintendo and its retailers, SIRAS’s POS Electronic Registration technology now protects products from a  variety of manufacturers of computers, consumer electronics, appliances, hardware and more. In fact, SIRAS’s client list is a veritable Who’s Who in the electronics and housewares industries and the company is expanding into new markets every year.

The only product requirement for SIRAS clients is that products are uniquely identifiable (serialized) to SIRAS Certification standards to streamline efficiencies in the retail marketplace. In the future when RFID becomes the industry standard, SIRAS will be ready to transition to this new platform.

In 2008 SIRAS employed its unique identifier technology in piloting a groundbreaking law enforcement database initiative, SIRAS P.I. (Product Information) Database, with the Mesa, Arizona Police Department to help law enforcement officials determine if products they recover have been stolen. Today, SIRAS P.I. has become an important tool for law enforcement officers nationwide in their investigations.
